*Tyrese Gibson expressed interest in reuniting onscreen with Taraji P. Henson on her hit show, “Empire,” but he told HuffPost Live exactly why it hasn’t happened yet.
“I was supposed to be on season one of ‘Empire,’ and I was in and out of court fighting for a personal matter with my 7-year-old, so I wasn’t able to do the show. That’s the truth,” Tyrese said. “Taraji and Lee Daniels were very, very disappointed — and I was too — that I couldn’t do it.”
They got their start together in “Baby Boy” as couple Jody and Yvette. They’ve been close ever since, but haven’t had quite the reunion onscreen just yet.
“When it comes to Taraji, because we did ‘Baby Boy’ together, people don’t want to see her with any other man, and they don’t want to see me with any other woman. It’s almost like Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams from ‘The Notebook,’” he said.

Gibson made himself clear he doesn’t like seeing Henson with other men, and that includes Derek Luke from season one of the popular hip-hop soap opera.
“I don’t like this Derek Luke dude kissing all over my girl. I don’t like Terrence [Howard] kissing all over her. It bothers me, and we’re gonna have to figure this sh*t out,” Tyrese said.
He was just joking … we think.
