A school teacher who claimed that a 12-year-old student “fulfilled him,” blamed his former wife for his actions.
42-year-old Brian Drabek told a court that he was suffering from depression after his wife left him and married another man.
He claimed that the 12-year-old girl provided him emotional support.
The former school teacher in Oklahoma, was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading not guilty to charges of molesting his 12-year-old student.
During an investigation, Drabek allegedly said that he was in love with the girl and she “fulfilled him in a way an adult woman could not.”
Drabek, who was a math and science teacher at the Tulsa’s Thoreau Demonstration Academy, gave the girl an iPad and took her to his house, where he touched and kissed her inappropriately twice.
He allegedly told her to lie to her parents about the incident.
In the end, the former teacher pleaded no contest to five counts of lewd molestation.
District Judge James Caputo sentenced Drabek to 10 years in prison followed by 10 years probation. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender.
