Viola Davis to star as Shirley Chisholm. Congratulations to Viola Davis on securing the role of playing politician Shirley Chisholm in a new film.
According to Amazon Studios, Davis will star in and produce the film about Chisholm who is the first black woman elected to Congress and the first woman to seek the Democratic Party Presidential nomination.
The film, titled “The Fighting Shirley Chisholm,” will be directed by Maggie Davis. A released date hasn’t been scheduled.
