The NAACP Awards are this Saturday and JAY-Z is set to receive the very prestigious President’s Award. The NAACP will not only recognize JAY-Z for his musical fetes but also for his work within the black community.
In a statement from NAACP President, Derrick Johnson, “The President’s Award is an honor we carefully bestow upon an individual, maintaining its significance and commitment to recognizing excellence in service that directly affects our community.”
JAY-Z has done his part to bring awareness to systematic racism through his Sean Carter Foundation as well as his work with The Reform Alliance, which works alongside criminal justice reform.
