Forest Whitaker and Mary J Blige cast in the Aretha Franklin movie “Respect”. Wow this looks like this is going to be on good movie! Forest Whitaker has been cast to play Aretha Franklin’s father Rev. C. L. Franklin, and Mary J has be cast to play the late singer Dinah Washington, who she should play beautifully. Marlon Wayons has also been cast to play Aretha’s ex husband Ted White (who was rumored to be a pimp). Filming will begin next month, and the film is scheduled to be released in August of 2020. Jennifer Hudson stars as Aretha Franklin.
