Alicia Keys took to her Instagram to talk about an incident that happened with her 4 year old son.
They were at the nail salon together when he requested rainbow nails. He got his rainbow nails in various colors, but after he got his nails done he realized he didn’t want polish on his nails. Alicia asked him why, and he said people are not gonna like it. Alicia told her son that he should stick with it because he chose it, and “he” liked it. She told him a lot of guys paint their nails, and that made him happy. She goes on to say that there are masculine and feminine energies in us all. A lot of people left comments, including his dad Swizz Beats, who said he is a young King and he can explore and express his creativity at any time and that they support it as parents. Okay I hear where they are coming from, but the world sometimes views this very differently with a young black child painting their nails. I say go for it if that’s what he wants to try, because children should be allowed to be as creative as they can be.
