“Boyz n the Hood” actress Esther Scott has died after suffering a heart attack. She was 66 years old.
Scott was found unconscious in her Santa Monica home on February 11th and passed away three days later, her family announced late Tuesday. “She loved what she did,” Scott’s sister says. “She would get stopped on the street often and people would recognize her — but they didn’t know her name. Hopefully now people will remember her name, her work and the contributions she gave to the entertainment industry.”
In addition to her role as Tisha’s grandmother in “Boyz n the Hood,” Scott’s has appeared in such films as “You Got Served,” “Dreamgirls,” “The Pursuit of Happyness,” Her TV credits are “Beverly Hills, 90210” and “Melrose Place.” She was someone who you didn’t know her name but you knew her face from the movies she had roles in.
