New York Mayor Bill de Blasio has approved the phrase “Black Lives Matter” to be painted on the street in bright yellow letters outside of Trump Tower. “The president is a disgrace to the values we cherish in New York City,” said Julie Arredondo a de Blasio spokeswoman. “He can’t run or deny the reality we are facing and many times he wants to set foot in the place he claims is his hometown, he should be reminded, Black Lives Matter.” The words “Black Lives Matter” is expected to be painted on Fifth Avenue, between 56th and 57th streets in the upcoming weeks.
