Dak Prescott Calls for Death Row Inmate to be Released

Dak Prescott is calling on Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt to pardon a death row inmate he believes in innocent.
Prescott wrote a letter supporting Julius Jones, who was sentenced to death for a 1999 murder but claims to be innocent. His case was explored in the 2018 documentary series The Last Defense.
Prescott wrote a letter to Gov. Stitt saying “I firmly believe the wrong person is being punished for this terrible crime” and that “Mr. Jones’ conviction raises serious legal and ethical concerns”.
Other athletes including Russell Westbrook, Baker Mayfield, and Blake Griffin have also written letters in support of Jones.
(Note: Jones has no connection to former Cowboys running back Julius Jones)
Have you looked into Jones’ case? How often do you think people are wrongfully convicted of serious crimes?
