Safe City

In light of police brutality against people of color, a woman and her friend decided to work with 19 families to purchase almost 97 acres of land to build a safe city for black people.

Ashley Scott, who is a realtor, and her friend Renee Walters launched The Freedom Georgia Initiative after the killing of Ahmad Aubery.

Scott went to therapy to deal with the continuous killings of unarmed black men and women in the United States. She said in a interview “It helped me to realize that what we as Black people are suffering from is racial trauma. We are dealing with systemic racism.”  I never thought of it that way, but it makes sense that we as black people are dealing with racism in one form or another…It’s sad…

How are you dealing with the onslaught of killings of black people in America? Are you seeking therapy? Do you think therapy should be funded by the government for American’s of African descent?
