Erykah Badu is mourning the death of her grandmother, Thelma Loyce Gipson. The singer and actress posted to her Instagram touching pictures of her grandmother.
Erykah spoke of her grandmother within the caption that praised the patriarch for blessing the family with “good design.” Erykah said her grandmother experienced 93 autumns and lived a life of showering her 4 siblings, 3 children, 5 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren with tons of love and care.
Upon her death, Badu covered her grandmother with flowers and crystals and was able to listen to Gipson’s heartbeat prior to her death.
After Gipson passed, Badu and her family sat by her window waiting for her soul to pass, singing, crying, and drumming. Badu said she could feel her grandmother’s presence and was thankful for her life. Have you recently lost a loved one that you can still feel is present in your life?
