Judge Denies New Trial For Derek Chauvin

by

Derek Chauvin

A judge had denied a request for a new trial from Derek Chauvin, just hours ahead of the former Minneapolis police officer’s sentencing.  A judge ruled Thursday that Chauvin’s attorneys failed to prove any misconduct, errors, or any other reason he was “deprived of his constitutional right to a fair trial”.  Chauvin was found guilty in April on two counts of murder and one count of manslaughter in the death of George Floyd.  His sentencing is scheduled for Friday.
