Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, and other Olympic gymnasts will be testifying before a Senate committee on the FBI’s failures in the Larry Nassar investigation. The Judiciary Committee will be reviewing “fundamental” errors in the FBI’s investigation, which took more than a year to file charges – during which time Nassar molested dozens of victims. The FBI has already fired one agent, Michael Langeman, for bungling the investigation. Nassar was convicted on sex abuse and child pornography charges in 2018 and is serving a 175-year prison sentence. USA Gymnastics is finalizing a $425 million settlement with Nassar’s victims. How was Nassar able to get away with his crimes for so long? How can we make sure something like this never happens again?
