Gladys Knight’s son, Shanga Hankerson, has been sentenced to two years in jail over unpaid taxes. He is the former owner of Gladys Knight’s Chicken and Waffles restaurant. I remember going to the restaurant when it was open and it was a good experience… It’s said he did not pay more than $650,000 in state sales and withholding taxes. After penalties and interest it totals more than $1 million dollars between 2012 and 2016. He was sentenced to serve two years in prison, one year of supervised release. He plead guilty in July. His father is Aaliyah’s uncle, Barry Hankerson. I know Gladys Knight must be heart broken right now…
