Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade, undoing nearly 50 years of legalized abortion nationwide

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton says abortion is now illegal in the state, following Friday’s Supreme Court decision.
In a statement released shortly after the decision was announced, Paxton said “Today, the question of abortion returns to the states. And in Texas, that question has already been answered: abortion is illegal here.”
Paxton also decided to close his office for the rest of the day – which he says is “in honor of the nearly 70 million unborn babies killed in the womb since 1973”.
Is Paxton closing his office as a memorial, or so he doesn’t have to deal with the public backlash? Will other states follow his lead?
