Family Records of African-Americans Dating Back to Slavery Will Be Made Available Online

According to theclutchmagazine.com  Black People looking to trace their ancestry back as far as possible, will get to do that with a new website  that will allow millions of African-Americans to access unavailable records from a federal database with information dating all the way back to slavery days, the Gurardian reports.

In a major breakthrough, Black People looking to trace their ancestry back as far as possible , a new website will allow that to happen. Can you imagine that and it certainly has me thinking about how far back my family chain goes that I can see for myself.

Before the U.S. census report in 1870, us black folks could not get that valuable historical information. Read below to see how it will happen.

Several organizations are currently working together to digitize the handwritten records and get the project finished, with an expected completion date of late 2016 that will coincide with the opening of the Smithsonian National Museum of African-American History and Culture on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
