In her new book , After the Dance, Jan Gaye who was much younger than Marvin when they started dating, states that the late singer tortured her by making her do things because of her love for him including participating in orgies while Marvin directed and giving her alcohol when she was just 17. She states that she was terrified of Gaye’s first wife, ironically a much older, Anna Gaye and how she watched the singer decline over the years with massive drug use and depression until his death in 1984 in the book.
