The passing of the legendary Gerald Levert sent shockwaves not only through the music industry in 2006 but all around the world and in everyday life. Gerald passed at the young age of 40, a life gone much too soon!
Gerald levert came from a musical family, with Father Eddie, the lead singer and founder of the O’Jays and brother Sean along with Marc Gordan who was apart of Levert. Levert had hits throughout the 1980’s and 90’s and their sound resembled that of the legendary mighty O’Jays. Not many singers/musicians had that rough, sultry but smooth vocals that Eddie, Gerald and Sean possessed. That’s why every time you heard that sound you automatically knew it was coming from someone with the last name Levert!
Gerald was especially popular with the ladies and it seemed they could not get enough of his smooth vocals along with good looks and beard that was always on point. I believed some women deemed with the teddy bear, first given to the late Teddy Pendergrass.
It’s sad and tragic that Gerald and Sean are no longer with us physically but always in spirit and I’m quite sure we’re all very grateful for their amazing musical legacy.
So let’s go back down memory lane shall we?
Baby, I hope you’re ready for our Quiet Storm Slow Jam Of The Night!
