Earlier this week we reported that Kevin Hart would take the stage to be the official host for the 91st annual Academy Awards. Well, things have suddenly changed.
Upon the news that Hart would be the host for the legendary award show, internet trolls took to Twitter to find some of Hart’s old tweets that made some very anti-gay insinuations which the LGBTQ community took major offense. Hart tried to solve the matter before it spiraled out of control as he posted a video to Instagram stating, “Stop looking for reasons to be negative…Stop searching for reasons to be angry.”
Supposedly, the Academy Awards called Hart ordering him to apologize or they would have to replace him with another host. Instead of apologizing for his post, Hart decided to apologize to the viewers and fans of the award show for his decision to voluntarily step down.
I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscar’s….this is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists. I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past.
