Kevin Hart just recently guest appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres show in which this particular episode is set to premiere today [January 4th]. During his interview with Ellen, they discusses his recent step down from hosting this year’s Academy Awards ceremony. Ellen admitted that she reached out to the leaders of the award show asking that they possibly reconsider Hart as a host. Since they actually haven’t found a new host to replace Hart with, the Academy is open to bringing Hart back on, and Hart says he may actually consider it too.
Accordin to Ellen, the Academy stated:
“We want him to host. We feel like maybe he misunderstood or it was handled wrong, or maybe we said the wrong thing. But we want him to host. Whatever we can do, we want him to host.”
As apart of their interview Hart expressed:
“Leaving here I promise you I’m evaluating this conversation. This is a conversation I needed to have. I’m glad I had it here. I’m glad it’s as authentic and real as I could’ve hoped it would be.”
