Ed Sheeran calls BS on being accused of ripping off Marvin Gaye. The woman suing him is doing so on behalf of the late Ed Townsend, who co-wrote “Let’s Get It On with Marvin Gaye. Ed says she has no right to sue because, while she might be Ed Townsend’s biological daughter, she was adopted by others at birth. Ed also says the alleged similarities between the “Lets Get It On,” and his song, “Thinking Out Loud,” are simply because the chord progressions and drum patterns are “extremely commonplace” in the music world.
