Hoda Kotb has officially been named co-anchor of NBC’s Today Show, replacing Matt Lauer who was fired last month. Kotb who will anchor the legendary show with Savannah Guthrie was very excited by the announcement during this morning’s show.
“I am pinching myself,” said a beaming Kotb. “I think we should send some medics to Alexandria, Virginia, where my mom has likely fainted after hearing the open of that show.”
Kotb will also continue anchoring the fourth hour of the Today Show with Kathy Lee Gifford, a role that she’s had since 2008.
