Lee Daniels has kind of apologized to Jennifer Lopez after comments that ‘Cookie’ made on this week’s “Empire!” The line in question happened when Cookie was talking to Hakeem about him forming a girl group and she said “Ain’t nothing wrong with a couple of JLos, as long as they can really sing.”
Apparently that line caused an issue in the J-Lo camp because now Daniels has released this statement:
“I talk to Jennifer all the time about being on Empire,” Daniels wrote. “We’d be lucky to have her. She’s proven herself as an original: one of the best singers, dancers and actors of all time. Look sometimes, Cookie just says some stupid s–t.”
Daniels has yet to apologize to Gospel singer Pastor Donnie McClurkin for remarks made in the “Empire” season premiere.
