For the first time since his death, unreleased music from Prince has been made public, an 11-minute mix of unreleased instrumental music from the Purple one has premiered at Versace’s menswear presentation during Milan Fashion Week.
Designer Donatella Versace said that Prince who was a close friend of hers had been sending her unreleased music for years, and she featured the songs in the fashion show as a way of paying tribute to him.
“It was a privilege and an honor to have Prince as my friend, and so it was my privilege to be able to share them with the audience,” Versace said of the unreleased music. “I wanted people to hear how playful he was, how joyous, how creative, how pure a genius. The biggest tribute you can pay to him is to play his music, and to keep his memory alive.”
