Charlie Wilson has revealed that he will no longer work with R. Kelly, even though it was Kelly who helped him at a crucial point in his career. Kelly produced Wilson’s monster 2005 hit “Charlie, Last Name Wilson,” which reintroduced him as a major artist.
Wilson says that the continuting string of sexual assault allegations against Kelly were too much for him, and he cut ties with the singer after the two performed together earlier this year.
“So I said, ‘Take this, and then that’s it,’” Wilson said in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. “‘Thank you for what you did for me. I’m gonna give you this one, but one is it. Then we stepped out the way. No more.”
Wilson will be a part of the Smooth R&B Groove on August 12th at the Verizon Theater, click HERE to win your way in.
