Ava Duvernay Signs $100 Million Deal with Warner Bros.


Ava DuVernay is the 1st female African American director whose movie grossed $100 million

Ava Duvernay continues to add more “firsts” to her list of accomplishments. Duvernay just recently signed a multi-year multi-genre $100 Million Blockbuster deal to bring a variety of content to Warner Bros. Already housing her hit show ‘Queen Sugar’ and her forthcoming show ‘Red Line’ under the Warner Bros. production company, Duvernay expressed her gratitude to be working with such an inclusive company.

She stated:

“Warner Bros. is a terrific partner about matters of visibility and belonging for all kinds and cultures of people, which is our mission at Forward Movement,” DuVernay told Deadline. “I couldn’t be happier to call Warner Bros. TV my production home.”
