Issa Rae is being dragged for telling Black women to get with Asian men. In Issa’s book, The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl, she proposes that Black women and Asian men, “join forces in love, marriage and procreation.” Read more from the book here.
Issa Rae is working on an HBO drama as executive producer. It’s centered in Los Angeles in the 1990s and what was going on there at that time. The Turner House author Angela Flournoy will write and be an executive producer. The show doesn’t have a title yet. More over here.
Issa Rae landed herself a movie role in The Hate You Give. Issa Rae will star with Amandla Stenberg, Regina Hall and Common. It’s described as a “coming of age drama.” Basically it’s about a 16 year old that witnesses a cop shoot there unarmed friend. More here.
