House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and the Congressional Black Caucus are urging black athletes to boycott Southeastern Conference universities in states that redrew districts to favor the GOP before the midterms.

Jeffries accused SEC schools of not doing enough to oppose Republican redistricting efforts, describing it as racially oppressive. Named “Project 42” after Jackie Robinson, the initiative seeks to oppose racial gerrymandering and hold universities in states like Texas, Missouri, Florida, and Tennessee accountable for dismantling minority districts.

Jeffries highlighted the importance of character, courage, and conviction in fighting racial injustice and promoting a fair, inclusive society for all.
