Thursday, the statue of R&B’s beloved “Babygirl” was unveiled at Madame Tussauds’ Las Vegas location. The figure draws inspiration from Aaliyah’s groundbreaking music video for the 2000 track “Try Again,” in which she dons her signature leather pants and metallic bra, belt and choker set.

According to VIBE, discussions about the creation of an Aaliyah figure began over a year and a half ago after much demand from fans.

“I was involved in the process from the inception of the project,” the singer’s brother, Rashad Haughton, told the publication. “The team at Madame Tussauds welcomed a collaborative effort in choosing the pose and look of my sister’s figure.”

He further explained, “They made sure my mother and I were comfortable and supported through an amazing but understandably emotional process.”

Haughton was instrumental in making sure his late sister was properly memorialized, even making sure to include all of Aaliyah’s tattoos.

The “More Than A Woman” singer’s life was tragically cut short at the age of 22 on August 25, 2001. Aaliyah, along with seven others, were killed in a plane crash in the Bahamas.
