American Black Film Festival postponed until October due to coronavirus pandemic

Courtesy of ABFFThe 2020 American Black Film Festival, which celebrates black film, filmmakers and talent, has officially postponed its annual event.

On its social media account and website, ABBF shared the news.

“Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and we’re committed to doing everything we can to ensure the safety of our community, including our attendees and staff,” the statement begins.

“With the support of our partners, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone the 24th American Black Film Festival to October 21 – 25, 2020,” the message continues. “All existing passes, master class tickets, sponsorship arrangements and bookings will roll over and remain valid for the October event.”

As previously reported, the festival was originally slated to run from June 17-21. Mary J. Blige is still expected to headline the event as this year’s ABFF Ambassador.
