Over the weekend, there were reports that Anthony Hamilton was arrested in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina and charged with driving while impaired. His rep, Aliya T. Crawford, confirmed to ABC News Radio that the singer “regrets” the incident, which transpired around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday.
“Mr. Hamilton regrets that he has been charged with Driving While Impaired,” Crawford said in a statement. “As his court case is pending, his attorney has advised him to not discuss this matter publicly. However, he wishes to express his sincere appreciation to his fans for their continued support.”
TMZ reports Hamilton was initially pulled over for speeding and then arrested following suspicion that the singer was driving under the influence. He has since been released.
