by

ABC/Paula LoboAshanti fans, rejoice: The R&B staple is gearing up to release her seventh studio album, Entertainment Weekly has learned.

“I’m working with some amazing producers, really cool ideas, and collabs!” Ashanti shared. “I’m excited about the next few moves, the year ahead, and releasing new music. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

While the project doesn’t have a title yet, Ashanti did spill a few details: She’ll be overseeing production in tandem with Metro Boomin. In addition, fans can expect the album’s star-studded features to include Tory Lanez, Jeremih and Swae Lee

As for a release date, Ashanti said the LP is all about “timing.”

“There are a lot of things going on and it’s important to try and line everything up as much as you can, but it’s also important to not sit and wait on things,” she explained.

She continued, “Sometimes I have a bad habit of waiting for things to line up perfectly because sometimes that doesn’t happen and then you miss out. But I’d love to have some new stuff out this summer!”

The anticipated LP will serve as a follow up to 2014’s Braveheart

In the meantime, however, the early-aughts icon has been busy executive-producing Stuck, a new musical film that takes place in a subway. It’ll be out April 19.
