Ashanti says Ja Rule is doing good post-Fyre Festival fiasco

by

ABC/Paula LoboJa Rule fans may never forget the rapper’s failed Fyre Festival, which left attendees stranded in the Bahamas in April.

But Ashanti, who’s currently touring with Ja across the country, tells People magazine that the rapper is actually “doing good” since the debacle he helped co-organize.

She continues, “You know, I just feel like the idea was amazing. When he was talking to me about it, he was so excited. It just didn’t work out.”

She added, “It wasn’t his fault. There were other people underneath that were doing things. But, he’s back at it. He has a bunch of ideas coming.”

As previously reported, Fyre Festival co-founder Billy McFarland was arrested for fraud in July and could face up to 20 years in jail.

As of October, Ja Rule’s lawyers planned to fight a series of lawsuits against the recording artist.

In the interview, Ashanti also talks about her “super-organic” chemistry with Ja Rule.

She says, “We could literally not speak or see each other for weeks. Even the day before the show or the day of the show. We get on stage, and it feels and looks like we’ve been hanging out for months. You know what I mean? You can’t buy that.”
