Avant Promises Real R&B on Comeback Album, The VIII

by

MO-B Entertainment/CarolineAvant is serving up pure R&B on his upcoming album The VIII, which means The Eighth, arriving later next month. The singer tells ABC Radio his first single, “Special,” embodies what’s lacking in most relationships today.

“The whole nature is like find that person that has all these different elements,” Avant says, referring to the special qualities we should look for in a spouse.  “Then you can say, ‘Well, this is the person I want to marry right here.’ Because right now, I think that we’re just with people because they might look good, but if you think he look good then everybody else does too, and that’s fine, but you got to find that connection and I think that connection is what’s missing.”

Following the success of 2013’s “You & I,” the singer also explained why his thirteen-song project doesn’t include his frequent collaborator, KeKe Wyatt.

“I didn’t do any duets with my girl KeKe because I wanted people to focus on Avant again,” he says, “I have to do a duet album with her, you know and we’re going to get that done.

As for what people can expect of the offer, Avant declares, “My focus was to get R&B going in the right direction again so that’s one of my main things.”

The VIII will be released on September 25 via MO-B Entertainment/Capitol Music Group.
