KRNB – Word has it Mariah Carey has angered some fans after posting a photo to Instagram with Colin Kaepernick. The star singer and former NFL quarterback happen to run into each other at
New York radio station Hot 97 recently. Mimi posted the pic saying it was an honor to meet Kaepernick who created a national furor for some NFL fans for his ‘take a knee’ stance against criminal injustice and police brutality.
Carey posted the picture on her Instagram and the backlash came quick. Some were excited to see the photo; others saying they were “disappointed” and “this photo bums me out,” and some other comments were extremely disrespectful to both. At last word, Mariah had not responded to the backlash.
Meantime, one Facebook user said,
Isn’t Mariah part Black? Isn’t Kaepernick against the Police shooting Black Men in the back? Those who have a problem with her taking a picture with Kaepernick were not fans they’re just onlookers.”
