Bad Boys forever: Sony working to develop ‘Bad Boys 4’

by

ABC/Randy HolmesWill Smith and Martin Lawrence really “ain’t goin’ nowhere” — thanks to Sony.

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that the studio is currently working on developing a fourth installment of Bad Boys with Chris Bremer, who worked on Bad Boys for Life, set to pen the script.

THR reports that there won’t be such a long period of time between the Bad Boys for Life and the fourth film, as there was between Bad Boys II and Bad Boys for Life. Smith and Lawrence are also expected to return for the next installment.

While the third film was initially touted as the final chapter of the Bad Boys franchise, Bad Boys for Life has left plenty of doors open for a potential sequel.

As previously reported, the latest film, directed by Moroccan-born directing duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, centers on a new “highly specialized police unit” that butts heads with Smith and Lawrence’s old-school ways when “a new threat emerges in Miami.”

Bad Boys for Life is now in theaters.
