by

The economic impact of the pandemic has hit Best Buy employees. As stores remain closed to customers, Best Buy is putting about 51,000 of its workers on furlough. It will begin on April 19th. This will impact a large amount of the store’s part-time employees. About 82 percent of Best Buy’s full-time workers will continue to get paid according to a news release. The furloughed employees will continue to receive health benefits. Best Buy stores still offer curbside pickup during the COVID-19 crisis. Locations saw a surge in purchases of freezers and computer monitors during the first weeks of the pandemic.
