Beyonce on Blue Ivy: “She’s My Homey, My Best Friend”

by

Courtesy of Beyonce’s TumblrBeyonce seems to enjoy raising her and Jay-Z‘s daughter, Blue Ivy, who has become the biggest priority in the singer’s busy life, which also includes performing all over the world on her Mrs. Carter World tour and recording the follow-up to 2011’s 4.

During an interview for the cover-story of Marie Claire Australia‘s November issue, Bey was interrupted by her daughter softly crying in the next room. “She’s about to go to sleep,” Beyoncé says, beaming.  “She’s my road dog.  She’s my homey, my best friend.”

It seems Beyonce is becoming more comfortable with the idea of sharing her intimate moments with Blue, including posting adorable pictures on her Tumblr page, as well as recalling what it was like giving birth to the couple’s first child.

“I felt very maternal around eight months,” she remembers. “And I thought I couldn’t become any more until I saw the baby…But it happened during my labor because I had a very strong connection with my child.  I felt like when I was having contractions, I envisioned my child pushing through a very heavy door.  And I imagined this tiny infant doing all the work, so I couldn’t think about my own pain…We were talking.  I know it sounds crazy, but I felt a communication.”

The issue is available on stands and for download now.
