Beyonce is among the featured artists confirmed for this year’s Global Citizen Festival, an annual event in New York City’s Central Park.

While the event, taking place September 26, is free, you’ll need a ticket, which you can win by visiting GlobalCitizenFestival.com to learn how to take action and help the world’s poor.  When you do, you’re entered into a lottery to win a pair of tickets.  But even if you don’t score, you’ll be able to watch the concert on YouTube, MSNBC and on NBC-TV, which will air the event as a one-hour special September 27.

In a statement, Beyonce said, “I am honored to be a part of the Global Citizen Festival. It has always stood for improving the lives of people everywhere, but this year is especially rewarding as we all join focuses and utilize our talents for one goal: to end extreme poverty globally.”

Bey will be joined by pop star Ed Sheeran, whom she recently performed alongside during a Stevie Wonder tribute earlier this year.

The Global Citizen Festival, which will also feature rockers Coldplay and Pearl Jam, is timed to coincide with the U.N. General Assembly in New York, during which world leaders from 193 countries will announce their goals for fighting inequality, protecting the environment and ending extreme poverty — that’s people living on less than $1.50 a day —  by 2030.
