Beyoncé’s BEYGood foundation has partnered with her mother Tina Knowles-Lawson‘s #IDIDMYPART  initiative, offering free mobile testing for residents in their beloved home city of Houston, Texas in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We love how Beyoncé isn’t letting up about taking care of people with her latest philanthropic efforts during the pandemic, following last month’s $6 million donation with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to local community-based organizations for COVID-19 relief.

The mother-daughter duo recognizes the coronavirus’ impact on communities such as their own, with an escalated rate of infections and fatalities.

“The virus is wreaking havoc on the black community so we need a movement to prioritize our health,” Knowles Lawson said in a press release.”We are all in this together. It is critical that we stay vigilant with social distancing, wearing a mask, and most of all getting tested.”

Next weekend, the initiative will provide 1,000 free test kits, face masks, gloves, essential vitamins and household supplies to citizens of Houston via mobile testing services administered by the United Memorial Medical Center. Testing will take place this Friday, May, 8th and Saturday, May 9th at local Houston middle schools.

Participants receiving a test will also receive a voucher for a hot meal and a grocery gift card from a local supermarket chain in Texas.

Tyler Perry accepted the challenge and will set up his own #IDIDMYPART campaign in Atlanta, Georgia, also challenging another celebrity to continue in their city.
