Beyoncé’s Daddy Lessons Rejected for Country Grammy Nod by Recording Academy’s Committee

L-R: Emily Robison, Beyoncé, Natalie Maines; ABC/Image Group LAAlthough Beyoncé leads the pack of this year’s Grammy nominees with nine total nominations, the celebrated singer’s country-flavored track “Daddy Lessons” was rejected for consideration after it was submitted to the Recording Academy’s country music committee, says The Hollywood Reporter

According to the publication, the song would have been eligible for a Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance nomination, if accepted.

Bey performed “Daddy Lessons” along with country group The Dixie Chicks during last month’s Country Music Association Awards. 

The entertainer, who currently holds the title of being the most-nominated female in Grammy history, is up for the three most prestigious Grammys Awards: Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Record of the Year.
