According to the New York Post, Black model Amy Lefevre protested against racist monkey-like accessories during a fashion show at the school on February 7.
“I stood there almost ready to break down telling the staff that I felt incredibly uncomfortable with having to wear these pieces and that they were clearly racist. I was told that it was fine to feel uncomfortable for only 45 seconds.”

In 4 years in modeling and walking numerous runways, Lefevre said she has never witnessed such blatant racism.
Other non-white models wore the costume during the show, Lefevre did not, according to the New York Post.
