“My family continues to mourn my son’s death,” Brown said in a statement obtained by Billboard.  “This epidemic is out of control and those supplying this lethal drug should be held responsible for the death and destruction that it causes.”

Ward, in the same statement, said her son “associated himself with the wrong people” adding, “those who contributed to his senseless death should be held accountable.”

Police have presented prosecutors with a case related to the death, which is under review for possible charges, Los Angeles County district attorney’s spokesman Greg Risling said Tuesday, according to Billboard.  He gave no further details on the suspects or the circumstances.

As previously reported, Brown Jr. was discovered in his LA. home last November.  According to the autopsy and toxicology report from the L.A. County Medical Examiner’s Office, Brown had fentanyl, cocaine and alcohol in his system when he died.
