Brandy confirms her 90s sitcom ‘Moesha’ is coming back

by

Matthew Rolston/UPN/Delivered by Online USAIt looks like another 90s sitcom is on its way back.

During Sheryl Lee Ralph‘s DIVA Foundation event this week, the actress, who played Brandy Norwood‘s stepmother on the series Moesha, asked the singer if she’d like to see their popular 90 show return.

“We would like to know, would you like to do a Moesha reboot?” asks Lee in a video from the event.

“Yeah! Absolutely,” Brandy responded, adding, “I’m here to solidify that we’re gonna bring Moesha back.”

Lee continued, “There you go. You heard it right here. You will have a Moesha reboot.”

Moesha, which aired from 1996-2001, starred Brandy as Moesha Denise Mitchell, a high school student living with her family in the Leimert Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. Marcus T. Paulk, Lamont Bentley, Shar Jackson, Countess Vaughn, and Ray J, who later joined the show, also starred.

Sadly, Bentley, who played Hakeem, Moesha’s best friend turned boyfriend, died in a car crash in 2005. Yvette Wilson, who played the Mitchell family friend Andell, passed away in 2012 from cervical cancer.

The Moesha cast had an emotional reunion on The Real in 2017 for the first time in 16 years.
