Kat MorganIt looks like Brandy has squashed her beef with Monica and wants to call a truce on stage.
Both Brandy and Monica performed separate sets over the weekend at the Soulquarius music event in Santa Ana, California. and the “Have You Ever” singer replied to a fan Instagram account, after being asked if she would sing their 1998 hit duet, “The Boy is Mine” in the near future.
“So you and @monicabrown really gonna be at the same festival and NOT sing y’alls biggest single together??? it’s a shame to let down fans,” the fan wrote, to which Brandy herself replied, “I’m totally down for it.”
Last year, the two vocalists were seemingly at odds, The dispute began when Brandy was asked by a fan to participate in the #SoGoneChallenge social media dare, in which fans and celebrities rap freestyle lyrics to the audio of Monica’s 2003 single, “So Gone.”
Brandy responded with a simple “chile bye,” message, captured by gossip website Rhymes with Snitch. Shortly thereafter, Monica wrote an Instagram message of her own, which many of her fans took as a response to Brandy, writing “Negativity, envy, hate & jealous are the key to an early demise..What ever you spread amongst the world is sure to come back to you.. .
As previously reported, the “Angel of Mine” artist also talked about the then-rumored feud on The Real, sayin that she would work with Brandy again and that she was on a new journey of self-progression, self-love and empowerment.
