Brent Faiyaz and Drake have teamed up to add another smooth banger to your summer playlist.

Their surprise collaboration, “Wasting Time,” finds both artists pondering why their lovers won’t spend all their free time with them. “If you’re gonna waste your time / then waste your time with me /You can have all the space / More than you need/ It’s no pressure girl,” Brent sings on the chorus.

Drake appears after the third verse to reference Prince, the Netflix series The Queens Gambit, and his 2010 track, “Unforgettable,” which samples the late Aaliyah

“Only time I play the back and forth is Aaliyah record / If I let you talk first, then nobody is speakin’ second / Fluent in passive aggression, that’s why you actin’ dismissive. Hearing me out for once will require you actually listen, damn,” Drake raps.

“Wasting Time” was produced by the Grammy-winning duo Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo of The Neptunes. The song’s artwork was inspired by Pharrell’s solo debut, In My Mindwhich received a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album in 2007.
