Lee Daniels is offering marginalized voices a rare opportunity to be heard in the entertainment industry.

The Academy-Award nominee and Empire creator has announced the launch of a diversity-focused career workshop, which will promote and amplify new and diverse talent under his Lee Daniels Entertainment banner, in partnership with Represent by OMV.

A part of the workshop, aspiring creatives will get an inside look at the entertainment industry, as well as mentoring from industry professionals.

“It has been my goal to create opportunities for diverse creatives and to tell inclusive stories,” Daniels said in a statement. “I have always been about giving all creatives a chance, and the Lee Daniels Entertainment Creative Workshop is another step in driving Diversity and Inclusion in Hollywood.”

Those chosen for the workshop will get the opportunity to attend meetings with Lee Daniels Entertainment and REPRESENT by OMV executives, go on studio visits, and take a trip to the working set of an upcoming Lee Daniels Entertainment Television production.

To participate in the workshop, applicants must follow Lee Daniels Entertainment and Represent by OMV on all social media platforms, submit a 15-second Instagram or Facebook short story video describing why they should be chosen, and make sure to tag the appropriate social media accounts.

Daniel’s workshop will be held from September 25 to 28 in Los Angeles. Airfare will be provided, courtesy of American Airlines. The deadline to submit your application is August 31.
