Cardi B sent social media into a frenzy Monday after announcing her new single, “Up,” which drops Friday.
Over 2.2 million Instagram fans tapped the heart button on a photo of Cardi wearing a sheer outfit with pink glitter patches and pink fringe, while sitting on a large ring suspended over a pool.
“The outfit was all sticker[ed] on,” wrote Cardi in the caption of a video of herself dancing. “Up Out Friday. Y’all ready?”
Fans hyped Cardi up in the comments with fire emojis, heart eyes, and comments from the likes of UK rapper Stefflon London and Love & Hip Hop:Miami star Bobby Lytes, who wrote “Body-ody-ody-ody-ody.”
“Up” follows Cardi’s global hit single, “WAP,” with Megan Thee Stallion, which marked her only solo release in 2020. The controversial record topped the Billboard Hot 100 last August and helped earn Cardi the honor of being named one of Billboard’s 2020 Women in Music.
Cardi is also selling limited-edition CDs of her “Up” single, which is currently available for pre-order at Wapstore.cardib.com. The site also features “WAP” shirts, pants, hoodies and accessories.
