It’s been a crazy off season for Carmelo Anthony. After the Oklahoma City Thunder and Carmelo Anthony both mutually agreed that their partnership was not a good fit, Anthony was apart of a three team trade that sent him to the Atlanta Hawks.
Although the Hawks bought out Anthony’s contract it was clear that they would waive him and after waivers cleared he would become an unrestricted free agent. Anthony’s buyout with the Hawks is now complete and Anthony has verbally agreed to sign with the Houston Rockets.
According to reports, Anthony has informed the Rockets that he will sign after he returns from South Africa where he is focusing on philanthropic efforts that involve refurbishing a basketball court in a poverty stricken community.
Anthony cleared free agency waivers last week and has informed Houston of decision to sign upon return from Africa, league sources said. Anthony also unveiled refurbished basketball court in South Africa last week. https://t.co/iezYkuwCJ5
