The virtual experience House of ’98 guarantees to take you back at least 22 years this weekend, all from the safety and comfort of your home due to COVID-19.
A$AP Ferg and Lupe Fiasco will sit down for one-on-one chats with columnists and sports analysts for in-depth conversations about music.
BJ the Chicago Kid will perform an acoustic performance of popular hits from the late ’90s on Saturday. Just before the actual Last Dance finale, Jadakiss will offer a breakdown of classic ’90s verses and songs of the hip hop era.
The Undefeated is bringing us the content for the culture, critiquing the late ’90s gangsta hip-hop narrative, and exploring how 1998 became such a successful year in hip hop thanks to the likes of OutKast, DMX, Janet Jackson, Master P, Lauryn Hill and more.
Fans can also look forward to critiques of Will Smith‘s Enemy of the State and the fledgling UPN network, which brought shows such as Moesha and In the House. Culture critic Scoop Jackson will also be on hand to discuss how Jordan’s “last shot” with the Bulls in ’98 started with the shoes.
